I have Plain Backup set to backup only if newer. This has worked for me for years BUT today it is backing up everything DESPITE me having it set to "Only If Newer". Nothing has changed. The files are in the same place and have not been changed, renamed etc.

Why is this happening ?

Not sure what that is. Don't think so. I will have to check. I haven't updated the software since I installed it a f we years ago. Funny enough, even more confusing I t only backed up a selected amount of files that were already backed up.

sounds like the backup set is corrupted. have you ever tested to see if you can recover from it? for most users the best thing to do is just back up the unique stuff that you create and use (not necessarily the system files). Protect that stuff first.

if you have a recently modern system (5 years or less) you should be able to do a factory restore and then just load that stuff back on it.

Well worth having a look @ excipere too. They have UK based cloud backup so your stuff is also accessible on any browser enabled device. It's not based in the uk so isn't liable to the same snooping rules that any US company is (USA Patriot ACT). I use it and it works. it's not free but how much is your data worth to you?
