Hi,

If anyone has time to answer I would be grateful. :)

I was declared bankrupt in January 2010, and discharged July 2010.

I have just been checking my credit file, haven't looked for a year or so as not planning on applying for any credit, but just wanted to check it.

I have one account that is marked as defaulted, but the balance is satisfied. The other accounts included all say satisfactory and the balance settled. Should the account showing as defaulted be marked as satisfactory since it was included in the bankruptcy? I have tried to google for the answer and would like to know if I need to write to the company to ask them to change it, or not.

Edited to add: The last date it was updated was the 6/1/12, should this say the date of the bankrupcty order?

Thank you for reading.

That's ok but the default date should be no later than your BR date in Jan 10. If the date of default is more you can write to them and ask them to correct it. Details of how to in the clean up credit file sticky thread.

eta the last updated is just when the finance company last updated the CRA so there would be a quoted date each and every month so that's nothing to worry about.
