Hi, is anyone able to give some advice on CSA1 rules and whether proceeds from the sale of a house is used in calculations.
My husband is on CSA1 rules- he is NRP. We have been married several years and have a home with a large mortgage and large utility bills. We are currently trying to move home to reduce our living costs. We currently think we may have sold our home but haven't found anywhere else to buy.
Our querie is this - if we put the proceeds from the sale of our home into savings and rent until we can find somewhere to buy will he have to part with any of these savings for CSA payments. Our plan is to pay off some debt from a period of illhealth and use the remainder of the money for a deposit on a smaller property. Its not that we want to avoid payment as we will end up with less outgoings therefore will be in a better position to contribute financially.
Any advice will be appreciated,
Thanks

any savings over 60k will only mean that you would pay maintenance based on the interest on it - so not much overall. They won't be able to take any of the capital.0

Hello K and how are you?
Someone posted on here, perhaps a couple of weeks back, when I was in a bad mood (lol) and needed to contact you re: CS1.
Did you make contact?0 -
I had a PM which I responded to - I don't come on here much these days! But I'm fine - hope you are too xx0
