Where do you buy your prescription glasses from? where's the best prices?

Hi,
I have recently learnt i am slighty short sighted and have nystagmus
I have been given a small myopic prescription for when driving (legal requirement) and an optical voucher as i am disabled/unemployed.

So i think the value of this optical voucher is £37.50 and the most i could add would be £15, so i'm looking for glasses no more than £52.50

i like the rimless design and appreciate they are more expensive but this site sells rimless prescription glasses from £30:

im not too keen on the cheaper selection of rimless glasses and was wondering if there are any other sites that offer a better range, for my price range?

being new to wearing glasses i am unsure if i need to buy or request anything else?
that site says the price includes the lens so i guess thats all i need?

- i read to suit my (rectangle) face/head shape glasses "with a wide frame and a strong top line. Avoid small square shapes and try a frame style with all-over colour."
I also read its best to get glasses with a low bridge, but all the ones i see have the same bridge positioning?

does anyone use a different site to get yout prescription glasses at cheap prices?
i called a few retail opticians like boots, specsavers but there prices for rimless glasses start at £100+

I may be wrong, but I don't think the NHS voucher can be used online. It can be used in specsavers for any glasses up to £45.

i have seen a range of rimless prescription glasses on this site for £31:

they come with all the extras retailers like boots offer, e.g. thin lenses, anti-scratch, etc
as they are closed i cant see if they accept nhs optical vouchers, but i cant see a reason why they wouldnt accept them

has anyone bought prescription glasses online with an nhs optical voucher?
also i thought the value of the optical voucher was £37.50, not £45?
does anyone know if these rates are changing soon? as they seem to in April

Both of the sites you have referred to state that they do not accept NHS vouchers (in their FAQs). I seem to recall that it's a condition of the voucher, not the company's choice.

Specsavers will provide £45 spectacles for the voucher, I can only assume they reduce their profit on them.

I can't say when/if the value of vouchers will change.

NB one thing to point out with the companies you have mentioned is that the only address on their website is an accommodation address. Their websites are registered in India.

besides specsavers are there any other retailers (ideally online) that have a good selection of prescription glasses for around £50?

does anyone know if ASDA accept optical vouchers?

Yes, asda accept NHS vouchers. The editorial section of this site has a page of cheap glasses deals that is regularly updated.

I've tried a few online companies - Spex4less have always been the best by far. I'm a big fan of theirs. Customer service second to none and always obtainable on the phone. Don't know about NHS vouchers though - but the prices make up for that in some respects.
