I never bought 4kg but i did pay £18.34.
Dtd is compensation for an overcharge.
PP is a comparison of the price paid. It's inaccurate which isn't my fault.
Besides this, there are numerous examples on these threads of CS in stores denying DTD for spurious bollox reasons.
Previously been denied an exchange when returning an item because it was dearer and was refunded. I have 3 outstanding issues where PP comparison is wrong. I have been refused use of PP vouchers.
When it comes to Tesco all is fair in love and war.
My take on this that it's often about combining different offers and making the best from them. DTD and PP are two separate 'promotions' - and why not hold T to account on both of them?
I've never had much luck with DTD and I've had all the things that you've had. As I see it, you're entitled to the DTD if there is a mispriced SEL which suggests you'd have paid less than you actually paid at the till/self service. (And that payment can be cash, debit/credit card, or vouchers - which after all, the vouchers, you may have had to use a higher value voucher up to cover something you were charged too much on. Had they charged you less, i.e. the price on the SEL which they should therefore charge, you might have had more pounds still to use of that voucher, rather than the short-change you got. As T say they offer DTD, that's what you should get in the relevant circumstances.)
The PP should be accurate. If it's not, you're entitled to complain (and in my view be compensated) particularly as T now claim 'you won't lose out' shopping with them.
Of course, it's all to gain customers and T, as a commercial business, seeking to make profits. But if the customer is attracted because of an offer the store promises to give, it should fulfill it because otherwise the customer would not have shopped there and would have shopped somewhere else (or not shopped at all) so, by rights, the business (speaking generally, whichever the company is and not specifically about T) shouldn't have had that transaction and, perhaps as another company should have had it instead, it could also be seen as unfair to competitors.0 -
