It takes a while to get it all.

I'm going for 2 cheese, 2 actimel strawberry, 2 sanex,

Those only count as 3 of my 8 items.

The other 5 items, in my view, should be made up of your regular shopping that compare against Sainsburys preferable at a higher price in Asda than Sains.

sorry if I upset you, I guess it's all in the name of sport.

you will be happy to know no horses were killed today.

The actimel and sanex aren't glitching.

    Morning All,

Some interesting, yet potentially rather disturbing reading for all those who have TCB accounts and the security of those accounts from outside influences. It appears the website and account details contained within have never really been secure

This is why you may have noticed over the past couple of days being asked to re-enter passwords when accessing transactions/profiles.

Basically TCB was targeted by an online forum/those in the know of how NOT to operate a website !!

Mike Tomkins, technical director and one of the founders of TopCashback, said there had never been a breach of a customers’ bank account as a result of poor security on the site.

“Having been made aware of the blog, we are now addressing the issues that have been raised and expect all pages where credentials are entered to be fully secure by the end of the day,” Tomkins added.

“We’d like to reassure our members that with regards to their bank details, these are encrypted on entry and are ‘starred’ out when account profiles are viewed so there would have been no risk of these being obtained by third parties. Moving forward we appreciate the comments made in the blog and are currently looking into serving the entire website over a secure connection, similar to that used by Facebook.”

EDIT : The blog ended with this damning summary of TCB -

I’ve included this to make the point that whilst it may be reassuring, in this case it’s totally useless. The seal is on a page loaded over an HTTP address so in theory, it could have come from anywhere. But that aside, the whole assertion that a logo on a page implies some form of security when there are such blatant holes is a bit ludicrous.

    Summary
The point with all the HTTPS in the Top CashBack site is simply this: it doesn’t matter how many pages you’re loading securely or how many padlock icons or vendor certifications you drop on the site, one you start sending auth cookies around insecurely, you’re toast. It’s completely pointless to secure those banking details in transit but then let the auth cookie which can load the financial data back up float around in the clear. That is a very insufficient use of HTTPS indeed.

For those techie types you can see it all HERE, but be warned it's very heavy reading.

Oh dear, more from elsewhere HERE

It's a good job it's been exposed as it's forced them into action !!!
