Actually red wine will keep better in the fridge like most foods.

It's just the majority like to serve it at room temperature.

I, too, like it chilled from time to time - a red plonk does seem to go down more easily chilled though a decent red IMHO definitely benefits from drinking at room temperature.

Red plonk chilled + lemonade or soda = English Sangria
