Cutting Tax

in Cutting tax
Hello all,
I always hear of how companies do clever/sneaky things to get around paying tax.
Is there anything us mere mortals can do? I'm not married and don't have kids but is there anything else I can do to be more efficient tax wise? I seem to pay a lot!
Thanks

That's a bit of an open ended question especially as you do not say if you are employed/self employed or whatever. Do you have any savings and if so are they in an ISA? Do you claim for any necessary work related expenses if you are employed - or even check if your notices of coding are correct? If you are self-employed do you do your own accounts and if so are you sure you are claiming everything you could eg use of home as office? If you are self-employed have you considered if incorporating would save tax? I would suggest you read through the various posts on this site and see if anything strikes a chord as being similar to your situation.0

Thanks for that, I did take a look through some of the posts but it seemed most people had loads of money, were self-employed, had a family, owned their own home etc0
