Papercraft for kids (5-7yr olds)

Hi all, just after some inspiration really. I'm a teacher, currently teaching infants and they love gluing and sticking and making things like cards and books. I was thinking of starting a paper craft club for Years 1 & 2 children (Aged 5-7) but am struggling to think of 13 different things we could make.
Ideally I'd prefer to stick to just paper, scissors, glue, and crayons (i.e. no painting) as this will take place in my classroom during dinner so I don't want an onerous task of cleaning up ready for the afternoon's lessons.
Any ideas? THANKS!!
So far I've thought of: http://www.origami-instructions.com/origami-snapper.html
But not sure if that it soo complex especially for such littlies.
(Or is there any good books out there you could recommend?)

What about seasonal inspired things such as eater bonnets/baskets. Crowns, cards, paper flowers (you can make daffodils with crepe paper and drinking straws), sundials on paper plates, rolled paper beads, paper mache things. Go to the library and borrow a good book about paper craft. I have one that is 100 rainy day projects or something like that. You dont even need expensive paper. Drawing around each other on the back of wallpaper is good fun.0

chatterboxes are good fun. http://www.origami-instructions.com/origami-fortune-teller.html
activity village should have some good ideas. http://www.activityvillage.co.uk/"A wise mum remembers her friends at all times, a foolish mum, only when she has need of them..."0 -
How about Friendship circles for one week? http://www.origami-resource-center.com/circular-paper-dolls.html
You could do stained 'glass windows' for another.
Danish Heart Baskets for another. These are really effective and once you get into it, quite easy to do. http://www.vintageimagecraft.com/heart_basket.html
Collages would be fun - maybe on a theme.
Decoupage cards are straight forward too.
Enjoy whatever you choose, it sounds like a great idea!0 -
Paper birds- lots of images if you google in images. Flat birdie body with pleated wings threaded thro. Or strip of paper for body in loop shape + circle strip for head and fringed strip for wings at right angles. Make into mobiles
Paper beads- again loads of images. Glossy magazine pages with dab of pva near the end. You might need to pre cut the paper wedge shapes. These couls be rustic & chunky like using paper carrier bags. Then you can have fun threading.
Collage using inside of business envelopes- these tend to have close patterns in shades of blue
Paper bag puppets
Finger mouse
Balancing card bird here:

but also lots of other patterns- worth a look?Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Watch "Mister Maker". It aims to a little bit younger auditory but 5-7 could make those stuff practically with no help. What I could remember straight forward:
1. Cactus from bubble wrap (my son's favorite)
2. "Carnivore plant" (my son's favorite) - require special yogurt (or like) pot with attached lid.
3. Monsters or elephants from milk pack
4. Monsters/dragons/frogs from disposable plates
5. 3D Cards (those you open and something pops up)
All these are from "could I do it in 1 min" section. So kids should be able to do nice stuff in 1h.
Another thing you could try is Papier-mâch!. But this will be 2 days project. 1st - paper over some shape, then it has to dry 1 week is just right, 2d - painting.0 -
I would also say to get some paper plates - you can do loads of different crafts with them, some of our recent ones include:
Animal masks
Monster puppets (fold in half and glue/draw eyes and mouth etc)
Mobiles (decorate then draw a spiral on and cut round it, hang up with string)
Giant fish (cut a triangle off for the mouth then use this as the tail, decorate with scrunched tissue paper)0
