in Cutting tax
Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask something on behalf of my boyfriend who has just arrived in the UK, he's french.
He used to live and work in London from October 2006 to February 2007, he was working in a restaurant but never had a NI number but he was still paying taxes, I guess they were using an emergency tax code. He kept all his payslips and I can see tax code 503LM1.
Since he earned less than £5,035 (personal allowance at the time) he should get his taxes back, shouldn't he?
Where can we enquire about that? What is the next step or is it too late to get those taxes back?
He now has a NI number that he got as soon as he got here.
Thanks for your help.

He is too late to claim this back, the earliest you can claim for at the moment is 2008:09 but there are only a few days left even for that year, from 6:4:13 the furthest back will be 2009:100 -
the time to reclaim would have been whilst advising HMRC he was leaving the UK0
