Selling Unit Linked Endowment
SNO_3
Hi,
My partner was missold an endowment in the eary 90s. We have just been offered compensation for this. However we were thinking about selling it as there is no longer a property linked to the investment. There seem to be a lot of companies that offer to buy endowments that have not yet matured. But we can't seem to find any companies though that will buy a unit linked endowment. Are there any companies that do buy these sorts of endowments or are we better off surrendering it with the company that it was taken up with?
Any help would be greatfully accepted.

Unit linked endowments have a daily value. There is no retained value (like conventional with profits plans). No-one is going to pay more than the daily value as they could just go and buy those funds themselves if they wanted to. It would be a bit like trying to get someone to buy a £10 note for more money. Are there any companies that do buy these sorts of endowments or are we better off surrendering it with the company that it was taken up with?
Surrender, paid up or keep (but alter fund spread) are the options you have.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
