Have posted this elsewhere aswell as wasn't sure of best place for it.
I don't have a credit card at the moment (well I probably do somewhere, but don't use them at all).
But I want to decorate my girls' bedroom this summer and just wondered what would be the best way to finance it. I don't really do debt, but this time I might have to as I have two weeks in August when girls will be with their dad and it is the perfect time to kit out their room.
I'm thinking:-
£500 bunk beds
£100 flooring
£50 paint
£300 wardrobe, chest of drawers
£50 other bits and bobs
So about a grand in total.
Is there a credit card I could get? Are loans better? Should I just use the overdraft on my bank account?

How long do you think you will be paying it back over?
Also, what are the terms of your OD?
Most proper lenders are unlikely to lend you as little as a grand.0 -
Could you not use whats left once the bills are paid and buy things like the paint and other bits and bobs and keep them hidden.0

I would say a credit card with a 0% purchases, off hand I think Halifax and Barclays have at least a year.
Overdraft - no.
Loan- for just £1k the interest will be quiet high even from mainstream lenders.Bad luck breeds bad luck.
Damn I'm doomed.0 -
Hands down a creditcard with 0% as thats just a low amount of debt to take out loan or overdraft0

How much can you afford per month in repayments?0
