Hi all
I've just had a meeting with a mortgage broker recommended by a friend, he was very good and can get me the miortgage i need at a really good affordable rate.
He has told me he won't charge a fee as long as i take out all the neccessary insurance with him. His fee is £250, should i offer to pay this and find my own insurance or let him do it? Can i change the insurance company after a year or are they fixed for the term of the morgage agreement?

I would walk away and find another broker who doesnt charge any fees and doesnt tie you in to buying their own insurance products. Do you even need the insurance?0

If you are confident enough in your own ability to source your insurances, why don't you source your own mortgage?Number 86 - Stole a car from a one legged woman... I'm just trying to be a better person0

The insurances are life, building etc. I do feel confident i can find these, finding a mortgage is a bit different i would have thought. I'm just wondering if i find myself the insurances would i get them for cheaper than the £250 fee he would charge.0
