I've been reading an advance copy of Zero Waste Home: The Ultimate Guide to Simplifying Your Life by Bea Johnson (out July, http://www.penguin.co.uk/nf/Book/BookDisplay/0,,9781846147456,00.html).
The author describes how she reduced her family's household waste to virtually nothing, with advice on how others can do the same, including lots of money-saving and no-spend tips.
Her mantra is the Five Rs: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rot.
She has a blog here
http://zerowastehome.blogspot.co.uk/
which will either inspire you, or make you feel envious of her super-virtuous lifestyle:)'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

*stands before you in welding helmet, tartan slippers & third best knitted cozzie, to bask in rays from 2nd sun* Got to my next target yesterday; 20 bootifull nsds all bobbing in the breeze, like daffodils at a pan pipe recital of Elevator Muzak to Sooth the Soul *raises arms slightly, to sway to Sailing*
I've got some more hems to take up so can't see myself straying too far for the forseeable, but may have to go get the newspaper (with an extra suppliment for sewing) myself & we all know how dangerous THAT can beWorse still, I think it's a 'collect for a week' type of thingy but I'll have a quick shooftie first to see if there's anything interesting before I buy.
Have a lovely w/e folks

That's great Freeby - and lots more to come before Tuesday hopefully
Think I may struggle to get to my 2nd target. Definite spendy day today - although it's all budgeted for and I'm really looking forward to it . I had hoped that Sunday and Monday would be NSDs to meet my target but....I had to give up on the key search and got someone out to give me a price to replace. Very relieved that it's only going to be about £20....but no NSD when I need to pay for it.
Oh well, maybe make it on Tuesday by the skin of my teethSPC Member #112 :A Save £2k in 2014 # 160 :money:0
