My advice: try and find a cheap hobby like reading. Either buy ebooks for something like a Kindle or buy books in charity shops (can pick up many books for £0.50/£1).

The latter is my preferred method for several reasons: -

1) They're cheaper than kindle books.
2) You can sell them for profit afterwards!

A book will keep me busy for several days.

I also have an Xbox (a game will keep me amused for years; I don't feel the need to buy loads of games) and an iPhone/iPad (which have thousands of free games).

Plenty of things where, with an upfront cost, you can have fun with them for years without having to spend any further money.

Geocaching is a free, outdoor activity, that you can do with friends/family/OH or on your own. You need a smartphone or other GPS device and you go out in woods or places like that and navigate to hidden 'caches.' These usually consist of a logbook and little trinkets that you can swap, hidden inside containers of varying sizes. You then log your visit to the cache on the geocaching website, and you can write a comment about it and read comments by others who have found it before.

I bought a music album and a new book that came out yesterday that I wanted. I probably won't spend any more money until next payday now other than on necessary expenses.

Edit: put me down for 15 days.

Presumably money spent on items for work from work's petty cash doesn't count as spending for the purposes of this challenge?

A rustling sound is heard from the basement of Ennessdee Towers. A stunted, slightly twisted figure climbs out of a giant packing case clutching several metres of green and yellow bunting, a large hammer and a sackful of nails. As well as a well-used, oft-sharpened set of chef's knives and a rucksack of cookery books, including the latest Heston tome "How to Pickle an Aardvark." From the top of the steps leading to the kitchen is heard a puzzled voice.

Oh, I see....as we are about to go into April you thought you would decorate Ennessdee Towers with some spring-like bunting? Good idea - make the place nice and welcoming for all the newbies and the old hands as well!

Oh, dear, Igor has really tied himself in knots with that bunting...I had better rescue him.....after I've had a cup of coffee first, though....and then I've got to catch the plane to Brazil to pick and roast the coffee beans first.....be with you in a bit, Igor, don't panic....

I have 3 birthdays in April :eek: , 4 days of different d/ds going out, a vet's bill for my cat's annual check-up and vaccination boosters as an absolute mininum and of course I need to eat . I think I will aim for 15 and 4 in-a-row and hope I fare better this month.

I've had a quick squizz in my Your Diary (everyone else calls it Your Diary as in 'have you put it in Your Diary' 'can you check in Your Diary' ' when's my hair cut/ dentist/ car ins due Mum') & there's nine appointments for various people in the first 5 working days after Easter :eek: & I've still to book two for me muvva AND finish a course of dental treatment for mesen
