When do Argos change special offers?

Hiya, just a question for all you Argos bargain hunters out there...

Saw a "dora the explorer talking backpack" the other week on the webpage reduced fron £12.99 to £7 ish and when I went to reserve it for my daughter's birthday, it's back to normal selling price. :rolleyes:

Nothing much on offer at the moment, and was wondering how often do they change?

Argos always has a "sale" on. If it's a standard sale item and not a special deal, it will be in one of the sale flyers which rotate throughout the year. I don't know the exact dates, if you get a copy of the current sale flyer there will be a "valid to" date on the front, the new sale will start the next day. As far as I remember the sale periods are something like the following:

Christmas (mid October - 24 Dec)
January sale/pre-catalogue launch clearance (25 Dec - late Jan)
Jan. Catalogue launch sale (RO items from last cat)
Spring sale
Summer sale
Pre-July cat launch clearance (can't remember if this is same as summer sale or not)
July cat launch clearance sale (RO items from last cat)
Autumn sale
Christmas sale...


There are also special offers which appear in the press, other offers in broadsheet flyers which sometimes run in parallel with the main sale flyers, RO clearance sales, etc...
