Will we qualify for a mortgage?

Halifax have said yes repetedly that we would qualify. My husband earns 28k but he has a spouse visa due to expire oct 2013, we will of course be applying for an Indefinite leave to remain before that only having to prove that we still live together. Our LTV is 30% as we have 50k deposit. I earn v little at basic wage of 4.4k pa. We can easily afford repayments and my husband has a great career ahead of him. I still have a doubt..

  • Tthe loan to value on this case is obviously going to help but key would be how long your partner has lived and worked in this country. If over three years, then you'll have no issues at all subject to credit score

Are you sure your figures are correct, as 30% LTV means the property is only £75K approx?

Edit: This is assuming property is in London.

More likely the LTV is 70% and OP is looking for property worth £165,000
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

Maybe you need to see a Mortgage Broker.
