Hey all
I have applied for a mortgage with the nationwide.
I got a DIP through straight away and have now gone to a full application
They have had my last 3 payslips and P60 and now they want an ref from my employer, which is fine as I have told the truth.
All I wanted to know is does anyone know at what point they ask for this??

They'll write directly to your employer as part of the application process.0

Yeah sorry I understand that bit
I mean at what stage of the underwriting process?
Start middle end?
Thanks0 -
In a sense the middle is where it all happens. Every box needs to be ticked to reach the end. When an offer is formally made.0

I had this with my BS but they were fine with an e-mail form. Lucky for me our HR team are amazing (rare thing I know) and they sent it back the same day.
They are asking to confirm your wage, start date, employment status (perm, temp, contract or probation) some ask if you are currently in the process of making people redundant.0 -
Yeah I work for the NHS and tbh our payroll have been really really good they sent it back the same day for me
Just getting impatient now as I want to start packing and chucking stuff!0 -
Just had to send my reference approval form back today, slightly amused me as I work for the company so I'm effectively giving them permissions to check their own systems.0

No they don't. They only issue references if they need to use secondary income ie bonus/overtime/allowances.
The main thing they want to confirm is that this income will continue into the future. They could also be writing on the basis that this years YTD figures are higher than the P60 and if you want them to use the higher figure, they need this confirmation.
Just make sure HR tick the box correctly to say this income will carry on. Seen it missed many a time.
If your income was pure basic, then there is no need for a reference.0 -
well that's the thing
it is kinda basic, its classed as contractual duty hours.
So its not overtime, bonus or commission.
o well only time will tell!0
