  • A NSD today well not counting direct debits and standing orders even resisted a paid for lunch although it didn't seem to go down well when I said I was saving my money but I will be debt free this time. So glad it was the last day at work today until Tuesday I am so tired and need a good rest.

Haven't done much just work and relaxed with dd watching TV. I am planning on making some money boxes with dd tomorrow and I am going to start putting my change in there ready for Christmas. I didn't sleep very well as I was planning in my head for my future.

Well I best get to bed totally shattered.

I have done a menu for this week and realised I only needed milk, bread and butter so only spent £3.85 on food and put £25 petrol in the car for the week. I am trying to be good and not spend at all as much as possible. We had chinese pork, mash (from left over boiled potatoes) and carrots tonight with apple crumble and custard from some apples looking past their best.

Tomorrow will be steak, jacket potatoes and carrot and the left over apple crumble and custard for pudding.

never felt this happy to budget for a change I'm not stressing over it and relaxing and just getting on with it.

  • I am having another NSD today as I forgot my purse think it was perhaps a good idea :D.

Going to make bread an butter pudding tonight for the rest of the week for pudding as I have some stale bread that's not gone off but a bit hard, and blackberry crumble for DD as she hates dried fruit. I haven't had bread and butter pudding for ages and ages used to have it all the time as a kid.

Plans for tonight to finally sort the ironing out and get it all put away fed up of it creeping higher and higher.

Also planning to make twinks hob nobs and put them in the oven with the rest of my baking to save gas and get lots done all at the same time.

Way to go on your NSDs and your dinners sound awesome!

I agree with what beanie was saying though. Could you not open a 2nd bank account (with another bank) and have your wages and bills going into/coming from there and then treat your overdraft as if it was a credit card and pay a little each month? It can be more difficult if you're living from that account too.
  • Wow there seems to be a lot of food talk on here ;)

All sounds very lovely - sorry for barging in but I just seem to sense when there are conversations about food. A am totally "can't cook and won't cook" but at the same time am totally obsessed with it!:o

Well near the end of my first week and only spent £28.85 all week :T which is a huge improvement on my usual spends. I have realised how much petrol I use on useless journeys as I have loads of petrol left still after only going to work and back. I have decided to keep putting in £25 a week and hopefully the last week of the month I won't need to put much in.

I have £18 in the bank but that will start to build up once my working family tax credits go in and all my bills are paid apart from the car insurance which goes out on the 28th of the month, there won't be much left this month as I have to pay the rest of my camping holiday off but then it's onwards and upwards.

I am going to get DD out in the garden with me and get my potatoes in its cold but dry and I have figured I either I lose them in the house or hopefully they will grow but the weather has been awful for growing.

I have planned dinner for tonight and tomorrow and I have a gammon joint cooking in coke in the slow cooker which is one of our favorites mainly because I get 3 gammon joints for £5 off the market and they last us three meals...bargain.

Well I best get the potatoes in and pray to the gardening gods for some decent weather :rotfl:
