I'm sorry but you are just simply wrong there. I moved south from the North and in London the local work shy chavs all vote tory actually. 'Povery wouldn't exist without Socialism' ....that's unbelievably stupid even for you. Do you know anything about history? ever read any Dickens....Victorian London etc?.....Geez....I give up.

Workhouses were a great idea. Basic standard of living, made the great unwashed productive.

The equivalent these days would be to make long term unemployed with no qualifications go out and pick veg for their money, instead of having to rely on an immigrant workforce to do it.

Maybe then they would see the value of gaining qualifications and working hard once they come home knackered after a month or two.

Any area that isn't productive shouldnt rely on the rest of the country to support it. Get off your backside, start a business and improve the area. Don't burn down your council flat because they cut your benefits.

So, does that include the East End? Tower Hamlets? Hackney? Newham? These are some of the poorest parts of the country.

I want it taken as far as people stop taking the p@ss and expecting others to provide a standard of living that quite frankly, they don't deserve.

Why pick on the poor? There are plenty of idle rich who pay no tax - why not vent your anger at them?

You do realise you are being manipulated by the rich don't you? Divide and rule. You keep attacking and blaming the poor for the UK's ills and then you don't focus on them....

In the 1750s social investigator Jonas Hanway discovered that the death rate amongst workhouse children in London was over 90%.

Without a doubt, I'm sure you'd find that some of your ancestors lived in a workhouse.

That's a classic. Life for you is so black and white, good and bad, the deserving and undeserving. Its simplistic nonsense. People are simply more complicated than the world you describe. Ever been ill...ever had a close family member that was seriously ill...ever had a disability...ever had misfortune? I predict one day you will look back on the intolerance you express with a buttock clenching embarrassment.

Yes it does. Funny old thing, they are labour headlands too...

The rich pay over 70% of all income tax in this country, and pay far more into the system than they take out. How much is too much for you people?

Ever considered the possibility that the poor and disadvantaged are corraled into these areas by economic necessity?

Ever seen the top 10 constituencies by incapacity claimant count and want to guess what party they vote for? Want to tell me why there is such a significant difference in percentage of claimants is caused by other than sloth and benefits fraud?

Having worked in some of the most deprived parts of the planet, I bet I don't....

Oooooh I get it now you've seen how hard life is in India and want us all to experience it:rotfl:
Poverty is relative as well as absolute. If there are problems with chavs etc...who created the society that they live in and get their values from? We are a capitalist market based country that places value on possessions and living on credit. The something for nothing culture, marketing etc... true tory values imo!

    By the way.... define sloth!

That's because they own all the wealth!

Since the richest 10% own 40% of the wealth in the UK and the wealthiest 20% own a massive 84% of Britain's wealth. And the highest earning 10% of households have a total wealth of nearly 100 times the bottom 10%.....

then it's no surprise that the poorest pay no tax.

So, I would say that the rich are currently not paying too much...and you've been hoodwinked...
