Class 2 Exempt?

Options
Sorry for such a basic question I did try googling but I keep getting the same answar that if I am earning less then 6k (ish) self employed I can be exempt from Class 2 NI

My actal question is if I am employed earning 15k+ a year, and only earning less then 2k a year being self employed do I need to pay class 2 NI?

I would think not but I want to be sure before I start filling in exempt forms..

you can claim exemption from class 2, because your self-employed earnings are low.
  • Class 2 applies to self employment only, so yes, you are entitled to claim exemption on the grounds of low earnings. Your Class 1 PAYE NI will cover your entitlements so there is no need to pay Class 2 for this reason.
