I couldn't resist a little look at MSE while on holiday last week...........I know what you're saying, get a life Nile!
Anyway, I spotted a few local shops (in Scotland)displaying posters for so many minutes on tinternet in exchange for a small fortune.
So.......if you find that you need a fix while you're on your travels, do what I did and get free access at the library. I had to sign a register to get my password then had 45 minutes free tinternet use. ;D
If it's busy when you call in, they have a diary so you can book a session for later in the day.

I work in a library in the IT section - Libraries are great money saving places! IT access should be free in all UK libraries as part of the Governments UK Online initative (Information for All). I would say book an IT session before you visit coz you may end-up with at least a two hour wait.0

sorry Nile... I should have also said that this is a good post....that not many people think about.
While near a Library in Manchester I went in and asked their policy.
They said that until recently non-manchester residents had to pay £25 to use the internet!! but this was for 12 mths access. No good if you're just visiting.
Anyway, they have now changed this and anyone can join and use Internet - just take ID with you!PLAY GOOD!

It's not just big libraries that have Internet access. Many village libraries also have access for free.
I live in East Yorkshire and know I can use any libary in East Yorkshire that has Internet access. Can also use any libraries in Hull even though it is a different Council.
If, on holiday, would recommend you carry your local lbrary's library card with you and proof of address!
