After more coffee, and hunting through my bookmarks, I found this.

    http://www.bdl.org.uk/images/Prescrition%20and%20Limitation%20(Scotland)%20Act.pdf

I knew I'd saved something somewhere.

Thats almost identical to what I was looking at yesterday.

    Thanks again.

Once I register for the voters roll, how long will it take before the credit agencies will see me on the roll?

As far as I remember it is your local 'Valuation Joint Board' that maintains the electoral roll in Scotland.

You will need to get a form from them anyway to add yourself, so they should know how long it takes you to be added, and who can then search the register and for what purpose.

They probably have a website explaining all this.

Thank you for your comment - it has been a hard slog i can tell you. had my lightbulb moment just before going back to work after 8 months maternity leave. when I went back I did so much overtime and paid every spare penny off them. I think my children forgot who I was.

I am very lucky though as i had some help from a friend (he was giving us large sums of money to pay off the cc, who we then paid back after paying off the Halifax CC.

We did at times live on £38 per week for food and nappies and baby milk. please don't ask how we managed as I have no idea now when i look back, but it all helped and i no longer do ANY overtime. we have quite a tight budget for the next 2 months (but nowhere near the above amount) and then it's all over.

Good luck with it all and keep us posted
