Cabots again

Hi Where to start . Cabots brought 2 old debts dating back to 2007 (defaulted). One I have managed to sort as this was a fraudulant catalogue debt that they contacted me about in 2009 I told them to take a hike and never heard anything from them till this month but in the meantime contacted the catalogue and now have it in writing that this is fraud and all data about it will be removed in 28 days so we will see.
The other is a BOS loan that I no i have also never had so wrote to cabots and said prove it in 2010 I got the standard reply of looking for what you requested then a letter stating account was on hold while they continued to search for the data . Now that was 3 years ago and not heard nothing since. This default is due to drop off my credit file in Jan 2014 and what I need to know is as I have never made a payment to BOS or Cabot and have never said it was mine just asked for proof will this become statute bared.
Thanks in advance

Hard to say. If the account is not yours, then presumably you don't know when the person who does owe it last paid or acknowledged the debt?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
