Star loans

Hi all, I recently had 49.50 taken out of my account from these so called people!!! i was furious as i could not recall signing any forms! I rang them up on their so called customer helpline and spoke to a lady with a asian or indian accent!! I told her i was not happy as they took money out of my account and i wanted it back. She told me to get a bank statement and highlight where star loans had took the money out and send it to their so called address with a short note saying you want a refund. I have done that today so lets see if they give me my refund back. She said i would receive it through the post as a cheque.:(

I would hazard a guess that you have been looking for loans and randomly entering your debit card details on sites that asked for it.

You might get lucky and they may refund you - or they could argue that you agreed to them taking the money.

You must have entered your bank details in somewhere for this to happen.

What an odd thing to do. If I spotted an unauthorised transaction on my statement I'd contact my bank and expect them to refund it.

I certainly wouldn't waste my time faffing around as you have.

I bet you the sum of £49.50 that you have done the two things....

    1. You have entered your bank details into a 'loan site' somewhere

    2. You have checked the box that agrees with their T&C's (which probably say they are a loan broker and charge the fee)

    Have you?

Cripes! Have you seen the grief you have to go through on that site?

Some random keyboard slaps (sorry Mr jklhjkhjkbh, I used your name again!!) brings you to this screen:
    1. All of the information you have provided is true and correct in all respects.
    2. Your detail may be passed to associate companies in line with our terms & conditions.
    3. You have read and understood our terms & conditions and have agreed for Star Loans Ltd to act as credit broker for the purpose of your loan application.
    4. You will be charged an administration fee of £49.99 that you have already authorised to one of our agents on the phone and in relation to that you have provided your credit card details.
I agree with the ‘Terms & Conditions’ of Star Loans Ltd and understand the above information to be correct according to my knowledge:
    First Applicant: ......................................................................... Date:................/............./....................
    Second Applicant:...................................................................... Date:................/............./....................
Please return this form after signing it to the above address so your application can be processed. For any other enquiries please phone the ‘Customer Care Department’.

Another interesting snippet nobody bothers reading

Please Note:We are not the lenders; we assist people to find a lender. Once your application is completed this does not mean your loan has been approved, it simply means that you have fulfilled our criteria and we are pleased to forward your loan application to lenders for approval. Paying a fee does not guarantee you a loan as this only covers our administration cost

Looks like you (or Mr jklhjkhjkbh) might have broken point 1 of their requirements.
