will PPI claim extended financial interest?

Hello everyone! I haven't posted on this board for a while. My husband and I were declared bankrupt march 2010. We were given an IPA and our final payment to this will be in May :T.
This morning I had a phonecall from debt advice Scotland discussing a PPI claim. Our trustee sent my husband and I letters a while ago saying that they would be persuing any claim that there may be. What I'm wondering is that although our IPA ends in May will they still have a fanancial interest in us (other than the PPI) after our final payment? Or will our money then become properly our money and they will no longer have any say/interest in what we do with it? I know they will keep any PPI owed etc, I really have no interest in it anyway to be honest. I just want to know if we will have to wait until that claim has been processed before we are "properly free".
Thanks in Advance

Hi TDMum
Any PPI claims will be completely separate from your IPA.
So, when you make your final payment to the IPA in May, that will be the end of the IPA.
You should already have been discharged in March 2011. After that point, any windfalls have nothing to do with your trustee - it's all yours :T
So, even if the trustee stays in place to sort out the PPI, it shouldn't really affect you.0 -
Thank you coolcait! We've been looking forward to May as our new beginning for a while and thought our plans had been scuppered at the last hurdle. Good to hear all will still be on track
