YBS mortgage

A glimmer of hope on the mortage front.

I spoke to a lovely lady at Yorkshire Building Society today about my situation, bankruptcy coming off file in the Summer, have half the money to put down on a property (thanks to boyfriend) and where do I stand with getting a joint mortage.

She said that as long as 36 months has passed, credit file looks good and can back up with wages etc then it should be hopeful. She said I do not have a repossession and defaults are old (off my file in the summer anyway).

Rates are very good with them also. Boyfriend puts house on market next week so the ball will be rolling.

Keeping everything crossed.

    Yes , well done.
But could you be a bit more specific, in like what thought of % would you be putting down and how does your income compare to your partners. As his income classed as the main income etc?
    Thanks.

His income would be the main one as I am part time. His wages are not great basic but it looks like YBS taken into account commission so together our income is £29500 per annum.

Hopefully he should have around £100,000 to put as a deposit so will need a LTV of around 50%.

Spoke to a local guy from YBS this morning. He sounds really hopeful. Said with the deposit and only needing approx 50% LTV there are some really good rates for us. He is going to phone me Thursday afternoon and spend about an hour running through stuff to give a figure of how much they could lend. He said they would need to do a credit check if we went through with the application but as my finances have been run so well since bankruptcy do not see an issue with it, but lets wait and see.

We will not apply yet as want to see what happens with boyfriends house sale.

But good to know someone has not said 'no' straight away.
