  • Morning :D

£32 to start my month off, i seem to be in a bit of a funk at the moment, money making is very much in dribs and drabs, and in one hand and straight out of the other

Im planning to do a carboot sale tomorrow so fingers crossed the weather stays clear, hopefully that will give me a bit of a boost and the chance to get rid of some junk.

The nice lady at the post office gave me a template for the new price guide, so thats saved me making one :)

Just checked OHs bank account and he's had £35 in too from the MSing I made him do too, so counting that as I've transferred it into the savings account.

And just noticed a whole 4p interest into one of my 'spare' bank accounts :)

Feeling much more motivated now for this month already by jumping off the starting block :)

Well Im back to work now! Only 5 weeks and bit until maternity leave starts though! Got £23.49 to add from eBay sales. Should have had about £50 but some of it seems to have been swallowed up somewhere. Still waiting for 7 people to pay so hopefully will have some more to add from there soon. Also determined to open the money tin this month! Thought we would have filled it last month but still a couple of cm left! So Im behind by about £7. Wonder where I can make that from today...

  • Good morning everyone, I am so glad I joined this challenge, you are all so inspiring!

No new sales so far today, had a bit of a shock last night, I got DH to check the meter readings for gas and elec and was so shocked at the amount we have used since January , so I have decided to close my beloved fishtank:( as it must use up quite a bit, we have also gone around the house and identified all the things we can switch off, but with three kids addicted to gaming, it's no easy job.

Good news is, that it should raise a few quid, so not all bad and we have agreed once we are debt free, I can have the 6x2 marine project I have always wanted (as long as I save for it first).

I am off to do a bit more decluttering and cleaning, then I will try to make a few more stitched cards, I have an order for one, but I won't count the money for it until I receive it.
  • hey guys, you are all fab at making money!!

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas if i could make some money out of an old king size matress? it can't be sold so was just going to take it to the tip but then i thought of this board :) If anyone does have any ideas please do let me know!

Also how do you sign up to deliver yellow pages/directories etc?

    Thanks very much

    .

I can strongly suggest an energy monitor. We picked one up at a bootsale for £3, although they seem to be £10 on eBay. I'm shocked at how little we use, how I thought that the tumble drier would cost an awful lot when in fact it doesn't - our extractor fan above the hob uses more! Very eye opening.

Can someone please talk me into doing a yard sale? Last year, the whole village were involved with yard sale maps printed and people made loads of money...I didn't realise it was happening. This year's one is in September...but I don't want to wait that long.

We live on a main road (but there's parking) opposite a One Stop, so would probably get a lot of foot traffic. Plus no pitch fee and we can pack up whenever. We also have a big enough front garden/driveway. But I seem to be a bit embarrassed about it outside my home.

I don't think there is anything you can do to make money from an old mattress. tip is best place.

My local paper used to advertise for people to deliver yellow pages.

I did it one year, mum was sick of them being in the house and you really need to be able to collect a lot to deliver to make it worthwhile.

Thank you for that, I had considered one, but I thought they would be more expensive than that, I will pick one up.
