I went bankrupt last December and today I received a letter saying;
I ???????? the official receiver and trustee of the above named bankrupt intend to apply to the dep of enterprise, trade and investment for my release as trustee..
I was expecting it to last a year if this is what is happening but it's been less than 4 months.

Your BR is not officially over, as you haven't been discharged yet.
That letter just means that the OR has finished the main investigation part of your BR.
It is still good news though, as it means it's almost as good as done.
