Paying the creditor or the DCA?

I have been paying monthly amounts direct to Nat West Visa - I am getting constant calls from Allied International Credit to pay them direct for the debt - after constantly refusing to provide bank details for a standing order, finally I have recieved a standing order mandate from them (nowhere on any of their letters does it state who the debt is owed to - just the amount and on asking them who the debt is owed to they give me a list of possible creditors!) - now they are saying I have to send the mandate back to them and cannot set it up from my end because it wll not be set up correctly.

So my question is this can I continue to pay Nat west direct (the payments have always been accepted) and tell AIC to sling their hook?

These people have gotten right up my nose as they are so rude and threatening - on telling them that I have been paying the creditor direct they said well of course they will accept it - you owe them money.

The phone calls don't bother me if I'm in the right frame of mind I can annoy them so much more than they can bother me - but their attitude makes me want to be as difficult as I can.

I would continue to pay Natwest direct. Like you say you have never had the payments rejected. I def wouldnt pay a DCA that cant tell you they are collecting the debt for. In fact somewhere on this borad and Im sure someone will give you the link is a letter you can send to the DCA asking them to prove what the debt is without acknowledging them.

If you are paying NatWest directly, I would write (NOT PHONE)to the DCA stating that you 'acknowledge no debt to them' and ask for a copy of the original credit agreement, or deed of assignment.
Have NatWest informed you that they have passed your debt to a DCA?
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
