Mortgage fees

Hi I'm a new member please forgive any mistakes. I am wondering if I am able to claim back mortgage overpayment fee. My husbands critical care insurance paid out meaning that I was able to pay off a hunk of the mortgage , I had to pay a fee which was about £600, am I able to claim this back.

But you chose to pay off a chunk of the mortgage and incur the fee. How is the bank at fault and why on earth should this be refunded?0
