DMP & Catalogue ordering

Hi all
Would it be really bad to order something from a catalogue when on a dmp?? I have the money for the items I want ..... I've looked elsewhere but I can't find the same item .... I'm short of shopping time too.
The items may even end up going back ...... but just wondered if I put the money in the catalogue account up-front ... would that make it ok?
I'm figuring probably not actually as even if the money is in the account, they won't take it out straight away and so its still classed as credit (I think??).
Is that how it works?
I don't want to break any rules .... I just want to buy some items that I've saved up for!
Cheers

Hi giddykipper
If you order them from your catalogue online it gives you the choice of paying for youR goods by debt card or on an account.

Hi there,I buy most of my clothes from catalogues,I pay by debit card when I have decided what I am keeping,I have a clothing budget and don't exceed this, but I hate trawling the shops in the rain to find a pair of trousers etc, much more civilised to try things on at home
I don't think there is anything wrong with catalogue shopping if you pay for things as you order them and not run up an account.

Oh great - I didn't realise they gave you the option of using a debit card. I'll go looking now.
LIH - When you say you pay by debit card when you've decided what you're keeping, does that mean they give you x amount of time to send things back before debiting your card? Or that you order it on account and then pay it straight away once you've decided what to keep?
Just wondering because previously I have tended to have a habit of ordering things in all different sizes, therefore ordering about 12 items but keeping only 2! Lol - in this case would they take the money for all 12 straight away and reimburse you or just take the money after you've sent back any returns (in a certain time limit).
Cheers

Sorry Jo,didn't explain that very well did I,no I have an account, but although there is a credit limit of about £600,I always keep the balance at £0,I too like to order a few things in different sizes, try them on,then send back what I don't want, then pay for what I do want with my debit card.
If you don't have an account already,I would think this would be hard to get while on a DMP,I always had an account with Additions, but have always kept the balance on zero, purely because of the interest they charge.

Excellent, thanks very much - I do already have an account with Look Again that I haven't used since I began the dmp ...... I think I'll try it and on as I decide what to keep I can pay over the phone/online with my debit card!
Great news - thanks again for your reply!
