    I don't believe insurance offers value, so I only have car insurance and property insurance on my investment properties (which are mortgaged). But I accept that it depends on attitude towards risk (and the ability to handle worst case scenarios).

    This is true, I just go with the odds are low, but if next door leave the gas on my house could be gone.

    Interestingly if I was legally allowed to I would drop car insurance, I would have an extra £7k in the bank now for it.
