Final Demands

Hi, My first post on this site.
I got myself into debt and decided to do something about it 7 months ago.
After reading the information on this site I decided to enter into a DMP through the CCCS now Stepchange, and very good they are to.
All has gone ok up until last week when I recieved a final demand from one of my creditors (The bank). I spoke to Stepchange who basically said not to overly worry but it is easy to say that.
So I have written to them to re-explain the situation.
The bank is the only creditor to send letters etc everyone else has accepted my plan.
How far can they go before further action or whatever may take place?
Thanks

Your DMP will calculate your SOA and redistribute the rest pro rata between creditors. The bank could take you to court, but they will know that a court is unlikely to issue a CCJ as you have already offered them a fair amount in a DMP which is fair on all creditors. Basically the bank would most probably not waste their time with court action and if they did it wouldn't be a big deal anyway.
I'd side with stepchange and say this isnt much to worry about and it is likely an idle threat to try scare you into giving them more.0 -
Thank you Sir, I thought as much but it doesn't stop the worry about what might happen.
Also reading a forum like is fantastic and helps alot.0
