    We normally have rice with that sort of thing along with a few peppers, onions etc

    I'd agree with corn on the cob and wedges! Maybe a mix of potato and sweet potato?

    bbq pork steaks - I would probably serve homemade potato wedges, either plain or herb and garlic ones.
    or creamed corn - delish! and for texture some tortilla chips. along with a nice green salad or a tomato salsa.
    er, knowing me I would do ALL of the above!
