silk button holes

quick question, as the flower thread doesn't seem to be getting much action lately, will florist wire go through silk/foam flowers for button holes?

yes, though it will look better if it is carefully wrapped around the existing stem, if they don't already have a wired stem that you are happy to use (my foam roses had paper covered sturdy wire stems).
