Confused about my PAYE coding notice

in Cutting tax
Hello all, I was wondering if anyone could try and clear something up for me.
I recently received my PAYE coding notice from HMRC for the upcoming tax year 2013/2014. However for some reason I got two different coding notices.
I have one thats saying my tax code will be 893L and this relates to my current job that I have with the NHS.
The other notice is saying that my tax code will be 50T and this relates to another NHS trust that I haven't actually worked for in about 6 years.
I'm confused about this. I thought my tax code would be a straight forward 944L like most people. But the second tax coding notice I have seems to have reduced my personal allowance to £8935.
Does anyone know why this might of happened?
Why am I getting a coding notice for a job I haven't actually done in years and am not earning any money from??
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Gary

for whatever reason they think you have two jobs
phone them on Monday and explain the true situation0 -
Are you by any chance due to start receiving a pension of £500 a year from the previous trust in the next year?0

HMRC think you have 2 jobs. It might have something to do with the implementation of RTI with the previous employer sending records which may still include you. It's easy to fix. Just give HMRC a call. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
