Shoe repair

I've got a pair of deck shoes and the sole has split on one of them so it's letting in water. The upper part of each shoe is in reasonable condition. If I take them into a high street shoe repairer will they be able to fix them or should I just buy a new pair (£40 or so)?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I think that the best thing would be to ask the shoe repairer what he can do and what it would cost before making a decision.0

I would take them into the shoe repairer and ask them. I did that a couple of weeks ago. I bought a pair of Footglove shoes from Marks and Spencer in November for work. The work involved walking quite a few miles a day but on carpet. I asked if they could be re-healed as I thought they had worn down too much.
The put a mans heal on the shoe (flats with a very slight heel) for £6.95 rather than £35 or there abouts for a new pair.0 -
If they are going to be expensive to have professionally repaired, may consider buying a DIY fix stick on soles and glue (from ebay from £2.50).
Or for a very DIY fix for 'free'..... flex the sole to open the split up, fill it with liquid glue from a hot glue gun and then straighten sole to squeeze excess glue out and allow to cool and then trim off excess glue:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls
