Options
hello all

hope you are all having a fab snow day... i personally havnt got dressed but then i am 7 months preggers so i think i have an excuse not to go out in the snow!!

well anyways over the next few weeks we are having our loft turned into a bedroom so any money that we have will be going into the loft fund!!!

this week we did a supposedly budget shop at ald and ended up spending more than we normally do

i really want to make use of what we have in our cupboards and freezer, and try not to be spending anything as we need every penny towards our building work,

there are four of us, me and my hubs, and our two little boys 4 and 6,
my hubs and the boys all have a packed lunch each day, so i know i have to go and spend a little bit on packed lunch bits,
and anything that i might need to buy to make any meals up

if i write down whats i have in would anyone be able to help me put some meals together
it would be meals for monday up to sunday but not friday as we are already out for a meal at friends that day

The diced beef could be a stew with dumplings/yorkshire pud or a meat & potatoe pie or a beef curry.

The tin tomatos can be used as a base for a vegtable soup. and that's all I can think of for the moment. hth

Day 1 Mini chicken wings, chicken chasseur maggi sauce and rice. Pad the chicken out with lots of veg ( use an onion from bag)
Kids - chicken nuggets or dinosaurs

Day 2 Fish in breadcrumbs with sf chips and fish fingers for kids and spag hoops

Day 3 & 4 Beef with tinned tomatoes will make, curry, stew, bourgignon, strogonoff (with out toms), or chilli with rice (serve with the one portion of bolognese to whoever doesnt want chilli) and garlic bread. Use an onion

    Day 5
Couscous with the other two fish in breadcrumbs and veg
    Kids - pizza

Day 6 Tuna and pasta bake, using pasta, tuna, onion, tinned tomatoes and herbs
Tuna pasta using mayo for kids if they prefer or you do!

Day 7 (incase you don't like other suggestions) If anything left over from day 3 & 4 use that and the sausage casserole from freezer

HTH a bit or at least gives you some ideas

It's so hard to put something together and find inspiration when it's your own food, but a doddle when somebody elses, Just got to work on my GC now ;)

    Some ideas for you -

Fish fillets or fingers & southern fries
Chicken wings in Maggi chasseur with jacket spuds
1 pack of diced beef = stew
    Tuna pasta bake
Leftover spag bol mixed with pasta & serve with mini pizza slices & garlic bread (add tin toms if not enough for 4)
leftover saus casserole - if not enough for 4, spread it out with jar hotdogs & tin toms - serve with mash?

I'm hoping that you've not included fresh fruit & veg your list :) And bread (toast for brekkie or summat on toast for lunch), milk, eggs & cheese (my Mum always says if you've got eggs, you've got a meal :))

Sorry, cross post with K9sandFelines! But you get the idea!
