Sweet buffet/candy cart

Hi,

Has anyone used a business/company? How much did it cost and for how many people?

There's not much variety out there considering how many people offer this now.

Thanks in advance

it would probably work out a lot cheaper to make your own version if your thinking of doing this. I did one for my wedding and it worked our so much cheaper to by it all myself

I have been quoted £120 for 50 people, but looking at sweet prices and scoops and bags I reckon I could it for about £80. I already have 5 kilner jars so would also need to buy some bowls.

I am worried about the amount of sweets, research suggests 150g per person but how do you know you have enough to fill your jars and bowls?

well partners dad did it he made two hollow boxes- large and small (to sit on the large) then he used table legs, he hinged two bits of wood together for the lid...... the wheels were the most tricky apparently- lots of little rectangles attached together then sanded down. Im not explaining it well but can pm a picture if you like :)

i have gone overboard on the sweets spent about £75 but we have 15 varieties (if not more). I found that the small items require more to fill the jars.

Well I know everyone's on a budget but I think £150 for 70 people for a lovely cart with all fancy bits is well worth not doing it ourselves.

What a nightmare to have to practice setting up so you had the right amount of sweets and getting a table at the venue too.

Anyone actually paid a company- how much & was it fab like I'm hoping!

Thanks Butterfly! The carts a wedding present surprise so I'm just not sure about the extras offered.

This company is new and the only one I've found offering a few different bits but of course they're a bit more money for the extras- but not much- probably cos they're new- but seem to know their stuff!

Any extra bits you'd have? Personalised bags, guest pics etc??

This lady used to work with me and now makes amazing cakes and also provides a wedding candy cart with various options, including hire of cart only, cart plus glassware etc and cart full of sweets decorated to fit your colour theme. She is on Facebook and has a website:

Many of her previous colleagues (including me) have used her services and been delighted.

ThaNk you for mentioning her but unfortunately a) she's miles away b) she's just offering the usual cart package- I was trying to get something extra/different as well.
