Our estate agent asked if we wanted to pay an extra £125 for premium listing...we've said no (on their recommendation at the moment) but might rethink if it wasn't getting a lot of interest.

My premium listing cost £200, but I negotiated a free EPC certificate so net cost would be around £120.

Premium listing means you are at the top of the page, and you get more photos, plus you can access your viewing stats.

Don't know whether it was due to the listing, but we did get viewers quite quickly and the house sold within 3 weeks.

I think it is just the same as paying for a boxed advert in a newspaper. You get a more prominent position and a more eye-catching listing.

We paid a tiny bit more for a 'premium advertising package' and the sticker was just one of the things included. Doesn't mean a great deal in terms of whether the house is 'premium' or does it reflect in any way the buyers urgency!

Thanks KatieJayne and all. Think I was getting confused about the property being "premium" when in actual fact it's the listing that is premium.

Such a listing wouldn't make me think that the seller was desperate or urgently needed to move... but Olias's post made me smile....:)

Prime listing - they must be desperate
    High price - they're delusional
    Low price - they're desperate
Lots of pics - they're desperate
few pics - they must be hiding something
Nice and neat - its obviously been staged
    messy - they don't care

    You get the idea.......lol
