Mortgage renewal

My renewal is due in june so starting to look for rates now, i understand literally nothing about it all so just want a point in the right direction, im currently with santander, so anyone got any good deals they know of ? also seen alot that ask for the value of property weve done work on it since we bought so dont know the value ? and is there always a upfront fee for renewals ?

    Have you spoken to Santander to see what they could offer you?

    Why not speak to a broker? If you are unsure of the processes and deals available then this could save you a lot of leg work.

    Not always fees. Fee free deals tend to be higher rates but this is something that needs to be factored in. If the fee is worth paying then you may choose to do it.

    Look at similar properties in the area for sale and comparable properties which have sold. Rightmove has a sold prices option, nethouseprices is another. You should be able to estimate the value from these

    ye i will give them a call first, just wondered if there was a list of fee free renewals with there rates or anything, and do you have any idea how much a broker would cost ?

    Lenders often don't publish their customer retention products and Santander tend to reserve their best rates for customers with 123 Accounts.

    You may be disappointed with what you are offered, especially if their estimated property value is a lot less than it may be by remortgaging and having a surveyor inspect/value it.
