Hi all, we are new to this and wondered if anyone could recommend a payroll company in Birmingham.
Some of our clients have recommend thepayrolldept and hps payrollservicescompany
Never heard of either of them, but then our accountant was doing our payroll an charging us £5.50 per payslip, we have 11 staff, so that was over £200 per month, so i think he wasn't doing the payroll more like ripping us off......Also our numpty accountant said we don't have to worry about the RIT/RTI stuff from Mr Taxman, friends say we need to get this sorted now, look s really confusing.
Any one recommend any other companies??

When I joined my current employer I had never done payroll before, so was well and truly in at the deep end.
Could you/someone else do it using Sage, I've found it pretty straight forward and they give you a lot of support if needed, although not cheap, think we pay about £800 ish pa.
You will need to do RTI though, I don't think it can be avoided.

The company I work for uses this guy http://www.alderleypayroll.co.uk/
He's a lot cheaper than your current company and is on the ball with the whole RTI situation.

Why not use Payroo http://www.payroo.com/ . They offer a free service which is RTI compliant
There are paid options as well but for a small company the Free Payroo is fine0 -
12pay seem to be well recommended over on UK business forums. oh, & change your accountant PDQ is that's the sort of advice he's giving you!0

I've found Sage easy to navigate and use so would recommend that0
