Sat 23rd/Sun 24th March - What small DFW things will you do this weekend??

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free. :j
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:
Morning everyone. Very snowy here in the Midlands.
Working nights tonight and tomorrow to support an office move, so trying to plan my day at the moment. Lots of snow so will try to catch up on some of the indoor jobs this morning then have a sleep late afternoon. I do need to go shopping at some point but there's not too much on the list. Just as well, as I don't fancy digging the car out so I'll just walk round to the shops.
Need to decide what to do about getting to work tonight though. I'll finish at 7 in the morning, but my first train on a Sunday isn't until 9.15 and I hate buses (and paying for them when the train is free with my pass), so my choices are to risk driving, wait over two hours for a train, walk the 7 miles home or tolerate the bus. I'll have to see how the weather is later.
Will update later with my DFW list

hello all :j
Thanks to Karb for starting the thread
Many congrats to Ms D for the new job :j:j:j (you deserve the extra :j)
I have had a tiny bit of good news.....I went for an interview on Thursday, and was offered a second there and thenso hoping that that is a good sign
but if not, it's good practice
On today's agenda.....
- Checked banking - no change
- Read papers online
- Watching bits n bobs on the sky box
- NSD
- I tried to get a pair of trousers but couldn't get the length, so bought 5mtrs of fabric, for the same price so I hope to make 2 pairs (hopefully) - spending the day unpicking a pair of trousers that fit perfectly but are stained
- May have an afternoon nap as I've not been sleeping very well
Think that's about it today
Take care all

Not sure what I'll be doing over the weekend but so far today I have had the chips mended on my car windscreen free and got new wipers thrown in too. An Autoglass offer that ends 27th March I think, so ring if you need chips doing
Then spent an hour to my broadband people haggling to get my package reduced in cost which I managed and saved a tenner a month for exactly the same deal.LBM.....sometime in 2013 £27,056. 10 creditors
June 20.....£7,587.....3 creditors left 72% paid
£26,200 on interest only part of mortgage (July 16)...will chip away £17,103
£49,200 repayment mortgage ( July 16) £37,7640 -
Hi,
Not much actual money-saving action here this weekend, but here goes:
*Good news on March grocery budget (last shop before payday just done) which came in at £3 under budget, despite cutting £50 off it this month to make up for overspending Feb's budget. Was pleased with that. Stuck to list & found lots of what we needed reduced, including nice big shoulder of lamb.
*Local farm selling their fresh veg on market stall....bought decent big bag of stuff for under £4.
*Personal 'spends' for March also come in £3 under budget, so if that lasts till payday, it can be added to my little secret tin.
*Caught up with online surveys.
*Recycled some plastic milk cartons & marge tubs into containers to sow peas into & plant labels. Tho' no peas getting sown today in the snow!
*No heating on downstairs yet, but will be putting it on in a minute, as it's been snowing all morning.....very snowy in the Midlands.....Mr f's big work event cancelled today as 1 foot of snow where he was headed!
*Only spend today will be treating ourselves to some fish & chips tonight.....haven't had chips for so long with all the dieting, I've forgotten what they're like!! Going to spend rest of day trying to keep warm, knitting & reading.
Stay warm, everyone, & SAFE! Please take care anyone who has to go out in all this snow today. There are so many idiots on the roads who have no concept of driving safely in this bad weather.
