Help-I've cooked my chicken from frozen-meant to defrosted!

Please help - I've bought some chicken drumsticks in a bag, DH has put them in the oven (see how I'm passing the blame lol, he really did though), just looked at the packet and it says not suitable from cooking from frozen:eek: and they've already been in 45 mins! Are they still edible? Or do I just chuck them?

I normally defrost everything, as I buy fresh meat and freeze it, but these are a pack of bbq drumsticks from Tescos (I know it's cheating, but they were only £2 for 10), aggh don't know what to do, haven't got any dinner now!!

In my days before OS, i used to buy the BBQ or chinese chicken pieces from Tesco - and used to cook them from frozen. After about 2 years, i actually read the instructions and found i wasnt meant to cook them from frozen, i had assumed that they were the same as the spare ribs!!!
Ive never had food poisoning, but i do always make sure all my food is well cooked and pipping hot, so that obviously helps!!!

Can you take the meat off the bones and blast it in the microwave for a few minutes, just to ensure any lurking nasties are zapped?
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

Thanks for your replies, I left them in the oven for ages, double checked they were cooked and piping hot all through, and have eaten them! Fingers crossed we don't need any 'sick bowls' in the night

I think I'd definitely be very worried if it was a whole chicken, but with portions it is probably not risky as long as they are thoroughly cooked through. The suggestion about taking the meat off the bone before eating it is sound - you can see if it's still raw inside and check the temperature is OK, and/or microwave it a bit if in needs some more.

I'm sure you'll be fine ;) Even though I wouldn't recommend it as a preferred way of doing things, I think you've cooked them through well enough. The bone in the drumstick will act like a heat conductor and would have helped in cooking the inside.
