Age 19 and CSA

The other week I called the CSA to find out when we stop paying CSA for my stepson. He is on his third year of college and turns 19 in May. The answer was 'at the official end of the course', but when exactly is that?! After the exams, which can be weeks after the last actual attendance?
Also, for the folks worrying about children having to be paid upto age 20: isn't it true that courses for colleges must be paid for, from September for 19/20 year olds?
In our case, the mother would not pay for him to attend a fourth year as our CSA to her would have to go towards paying the cost of the course. Any thoughts from anyone?

In my case our daughters course ended July but as most exams finished in June they didn't have to go back to college. The nrp pays CM while CH/Ben is still applicable to the end of the school year( 31st August) UNLESS the qualifying Child does paid work of more than 24 hours a week when the pwc must notify Ch/ben and then it stops.0
