I am in the process of waiting to hear from Halifax bank re my statements which I requested at the beginning of APRIL. Had no joy even allowing them an extra week to supply them.
So into the cupboard I went and found some of my statments and compiled my list. Sent it off Recorded Delivery 30th April to Leeds. have checked quite a fwe times on the Royal mail website to find that it's not arrived and the excuse I'm being offered is that my letter is still in the process of delivery some TWO weeks after I sent it. However I sent another letter Recorded Delivery on the same date to Nottingham and it arrived on 2n May.
So.... are Royal Mail crap or is it, as I suspect that the Banks aren't signing for these letters or are they deluged by claims they just take them and put them in one pile??? I work for the Post Office BTW so I sort of know about these things, something the Royal Mail "Helpline" didn't know!!
In response to my first letter I received a lovley response saying my claim is invalid and the charges are correct but no refund of my £10. Is this part of the dance as it were?

I suggest you let the Information Commissioners Office know about this. I suspect they are purposely not signing for letters, it happened to my OH last week with cahoot.
Do let the ICO know, they have probably got a file this thick *outstretching arms* to deal with on the topic. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
IT could be that it's gotten lost in the mountain of incoming mail at their offices.. you could always try sending another one?Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Thanks fro the info. Will try a Special DElivery this time. Costs a little extra but could be worth it.

Is this for claiming back bank charges?
There is a whole section dedicated to this on the boards, with an individual thread for each bank.
Might be worth checking there to see if the address you posted to is the correct one for requesting statements.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0
