Well normally it has "X Party!" where X can take the form of "Saturday Night", "Eurovision" etc...

Oooh. I'm a newbie, I had no idea.

Can someone tell me when I'm supposed to feel excluded and flee in terror? I'd hate to mess up the schedule! ;)

Plenty of room for BOTH.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

It's not that it's lost it's novelty.. it's just we're trying to distinguish a happy medium where the newbies will feel wanted but the oldies won't feel cliquey...

with all these socialising threads how is anybody supposed to get help?
any requests for help will just slide right down the board because all these social threads hog the place.

    you dumbasses.

That's the whole point of socialising threads.. to keep the friendly banter in one place so it doesn't get overrun with 'what did you do today' etc etc kind of thread and the serious posts still get help... are you blind as well as stupid?

Hi, for what its worth, when the parties started up on here it was a welcome relief for me. Instead of thinking about my problems and my debts it was so nice to be able to have a laugh and a chat with everyone. It was like going out and getting away from it all. And the one thing i did notice was that even though we were in party mode for one or two nights a week the newbies still got answers and were welcomed. And still are. To me without the party threads the site seems a little depressing. We all need a little light hearted relief. Can i suggest a solution. If a party is going on then can we take in turns to pop onto main DFW forum and check if anyone needs help and advice. When the parties stopped on here, it was like my favourite pub had closed down. And rightly or wrongly I and many others on here feel it was the one bit of social life we have that did not cost any money. Also how about if a newbie pops into us and says help and guides us to their thread then we can help them that way. Sorry if i waffling on. And tell me to shut up if it seems like rubbish xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi :hello:

I think the social threads are part and parcel of the DFW board. It's a place where people who are having financial difficulties, who probably can't afford to go out, can chat with other people in the same situation. I know I often feel very lonely on a Fri/Sat night as everyone else is out, so I enjoy coming on here for a laugh. Admittedly, I've only ever posted once in a party thread - when I was a newcomer - but I was made to feel very welcome. I tend to stick to the DMP Mutual Supporters Club thread, mainly because I feel at home there, like I know the people (even if it's on in cyber space). On that thread we regularly combine support, advice and banter, because often people don't want advice, they want cheering up, to help escape their worries.

    So I've clicked a big YES :T

(I haven't read anything about naughty bits, but surely we are all grown ups in here? If you can't cope with a bit of innuendo, stay off the thread!!)

P.S. Any newbies are always welcome on to the DMP Thread, although I think our ethos gives out that message without needed to write it down :)

P.P.S. I'm looking forward to pop into the Eurovision Party later on to celebrate the YES vote - it feels like Election Night all over again. Where is John Snow when you need him?!?!
