  • I went with basil. I've had an allotment for years. But I might be wrong still! Quite a tricky one.

    For what it's worth I also agree that they are Basil. Sage, even as seedlings, has a purple tinge under it's leaves, whereas Basil does not. Sage is also a bit hairy :o The Wilko pictures have no purple tinge nor any sign of hairiness :cool:

  • Just did a Google image search and still none the wiser.In some pics,the sage is hairy and purple like you said Tea Pee Dee but in others it looks like the Wilko pic.I'm so confused!Will have to have a look down the garden tomorrow xx

    Just checked with the hublet and he is fairly confident that it's basil. He is a qualified and very experienced gardener. I wouldn't say he is certain enough to risk being sued over, but I am definitely going with basil.

    Anyone wanting to do an image search, search on 'seedlings', rather than 'seeds'.
