I must sound so silly :j as my voice tends to go high pitched when I get excited! :rotfl: I bet the callers have gone of the phone laughing at me and thinking I am a loony! :rotfl:
Usually when I see a withheld or unknown number, the first thing that comes into my mind is 'SALES CALLER!' so I pick up with caution and answer with my usual flat note 'hello'. Now if it turns out to be a company calling me with good news my voice tends to get louder and l speak really fast!
I have heard my voice both on the radio and online when giving my opinions/to a ask a question for a few comps and I sounded really weird and spoke far too fast! Yet if I speak to someone face to face, I don't think I speak to fast!
When the caller is a sales person, I put on my stern voice!

Must admit as I dread the sales calls, my voice tends to be quite flat. Had a few nice WTC's not biggies but welcome prizes which I thanked them for eternally!
Had 1 OMG scream call with "are you sure" which was the £1000 and personal shopper at Harvey Nics as for me it was huge and to date is my biggest ever win.
Hearing myself back on recordings am like Little Britains's the only gay in the village as I am admittedly so Welshy :rotfl:I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

LOL Becky!!!!! Yes, It is when you hear those words 'You recently entered one of our online competitions to win an 'XXXX' and I am pleased to tell you .........' I can just feel the excitement rising and my eyes open wide and a huge grin appears on my face !!!!! I always say 'WOOOOO Thank you so much! I am thrilled!' (why oh why do I have to say WOOOOO! I must sound so silly lol!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

Squeaky as a couple of promotors have told me I've heard myself played back on the radio once, I had no idea I was being recorded as they did the win as a pretend hoax call, I sounded hideous, posh and squeaky at the same time, as if an old fashioned BBC announcer had been messing about with helium balloons! Companies can always tell where I am from too as my accent is very broad! So high pitched, broad and fast - yep I must sound a real loony!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

LOL, i remember when i was left a voicemail on my phone informing me i had won a holiday to Australia.
I listened to it over and over again (even though i used to be charged to listen to voicemails -_-) and still couldn't believe it.
It was a bit overwhelming tbh. I had to email the promoter back to claim my prize and didn't do so for a few days lol.
I didn't tell even tell my family for a few days. I was in shock.0

I often ask the call to confirm my win via email too - just so I know it is true and I can print it out!! How awful would it be to get a hoax caller telling you you had won a biggie (like an ITV prize) only to discover it was someone playing a joke!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

Sorry to hijack your thread with a slightly different Q Bella, but it seems like a good place to ask since most of you have had WTC's.
Do you pretend to remember entering the comp, even if you don't?
I have not had a WTC yet, but if I do get one I am worried that a company may be offended when I am clueless about which comp it is lol.£630/ £20140

LOL Yes that has happened a few times and I must sound so fake when I say 'Ahhhh yes, I do remember!' when I flaming well don't!!!! Well you don't like to say 'No, I cannot as I enter literally 100s a week!' :TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 :TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0
